Hello Again...

Hey all, I am back to blogging!

After working hard at school, work, and other things, I have returned to the blogging universe! Now in 10th grade and already choosing my courses for grade twelve, I'm pretty stressed about the future. Knowing that I want to be a journalist or a film-maker gives me some comfort in knowing I'll be prepared at least a little bit, is enough!

I wanted to also link you all to my Tumblr www.highschoolpotternerd.tumblr.com   where I reblog stuff and take part in Tumblr challenges!

I think that I'll be writing there more often than here, because it's easier to put it all together in one spot. So, yes I'm advertising myself and telling you to go over there and follow me!

NaNoWriMo Craziness

Hey all,

So how's life? I hope it's better than mine right now. When they say that NaNoWriMo's a challenge, they aren't joking. With school crushing down on me and trying to get out from under the thumb of "the man", it's hard to find time to do anything for me anymore.

But then again you gotta live through it. I've been working on a new idea for a third possible blog and I wanted to throw it out to you guys. I've been thinking about showing off my journalistic skills by review books and writing more on here after NaNo. Any opinions?

Wizarding Life Networks (The company I work for) has announced the launch of their newest branch called myHogwarts. myHogwarts is a fan's addition to Pottermore, as created by our boss Keith/Xavier. Basically you get to pick courses/classes and go through a normal school year. You can role play, talk, and most importantly sort yourself. There are the normal Harry Potter classes like Herbology and Potions, but there is also Creative writing and more classes to be announced. I've joined the team and am ready to start working on it! I'll link the site so you can express your interest and enroll when the time comes! http://www.myhogwarts.co.uk/ Go and check it out please! And check out the Facebook page and Twitter!

So you see what's going on with me, have fun today! :)

The Half Blood Prince of Textbooks

Okay so you've had a hard day, teachers on your ass, friend drama, home stress, and stress in general. So you're probably pretty out of it when you have to open your Math, Science, French, English, etc textbook right?

But then when you do you get a flurry of messages and helpful hints written in lovely colours of pen on your textbook that you immediately start to feel better. This has happened to me numerous times. Maybe my days weren't as bad as my example above but I always feel a little joy when I open up a textbook for a boring subject and come to find that I wasn't alone because many people were also bored and took the time to make many games for you to do while working.

My first experience of this was in grade 6 when looking in my french history textbook when I come to find a note written on then inside cover of the book. It was just a simple sentence telling me to go to a specific page in the textbook. Once I flipped to that page it, in turn, told me to go to another page. And then it repeated over and over again. After about 10 steps of flipping pages, you come to a random page that congratulates you on defeating your boredom and gave you a phone number to call. I was sort of curious about calling the number but I never did.

It got me inspired to do that sort of thing and as the years went on I discovered more and more graffiti on textbooks. Yeah, my school was awesome like that. XD

So basically what I want to say is that textbook notes are cool. Especially if they help the reader understand what's going on. Or help them not be bored and look busy at the same time. But don't go crazy with it. It is still vandalism.

Look out for the Halfblood Prince of Textbooks! Or make one yourself!

Until next time,

Jasmine
